Nikki Garcia has addressed comments about her divorce settlement with ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev, saying the $200,000 lump sum and $3,500 monthly child support are a “steal” given her assets. The WWE star filed for divorce in September 2024 after Chigvintsev was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence at their Napa Valley home.
In May, the couple settled their divorce with Garcia ordered to pay Chigvintsev $200,000 and $3,500 monthly child support for their 4-year-old son Matteo. On her podcast, The Nikki & Brie Show, released on Thursday, May 22, Garcia addressed online opinions about her settlement.
Garcia said the divorce has nothing to do with Chigvintsev’s arrest, which preceded her September 2024 filing. She explained that her settlement is based on a contract signed during their marriage and does not reflect the incident. The judge who handled their private mediation reportedly told Garcia, “You should be so damn proud of yourself” for building an empire.
Garcia expressed frustration with people viewing her settlement as if she was guilty or lost. She emphasized that she has been honest throughout the process and is happy about her current situation. On a positive note, Garcia said she and Chigvintsev are in a great place now, co-parenting their son Matteo and maintaining a good relationship.
Garcia also reassured listeners that she does not want hate towards Chigvintsev and hopes they can stay in a good place for her son’s sake. The WWE star is focused on moving forward and building a happy life with her family.
