Most retail businesses, including schools, banks, and government agencies, are closed on Memorial Day, but many retailers remain open. Here’s what you need to know:
* Grocery stores: Many chains will be open during normal business hours, including ACME, Albertsons, Aldi, Big Y, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Central Market, Food Lion, Giant Eagle, Hannaford, Harris Teeter, Harveys Supermarket, H-E-B, Hy-Vee, Jewel-Osco, Kroger, Market District, Publix, Safeway, Shaws, ShopRite, Sprouts Farmers Market, Stop and Shop, Target, Tom Thumb, Trader Joe’s, Vons, and Walmart.
* Pharmacies: CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens will operate during normal business hours, but some locations may have reduced hours. Check local store hours before visiting.
* Convenience stores: 7-Eleven, Casey’s, Certified Oil, Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, GetGo, Kwik Shop, Loaf ‘N Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Sprint Food Stores, and Turkey Hill will be open during normal business hours.
