Israeli forces intercepted a missile launched from Yemen towards the country, according to the Israeli military. The attack triggered sirens in several areas.
Yemen’s Houthi group has fired missiles at Israel since October 2023, claiming it is solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Most of these attempts have been unsuccessful, either being intercepted or falling short.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for Sunday’s attack, targeting Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. The US had announced a ceasefire deal with Yemen’s Houthi group earlier this month, but this agreement did not include Israel.
