Houthi Rebel Group Fires Missile at Jerusalem, Wounds 3 People

A missile fired from Yemen triggered sirens in Jerusalem and surrounding areas on Sunday morning. Shrapnel from the missile landed in an open area of the south Hebron Hills, according to KAN News. Footage showed what appeared to be burnt shrapnel from a THAAD air defense missile.

Yahya Saree, a Houthi military spokesperson, claimed responsibility for the attack and said it targeted Ben-Gurion Airport. The incident follows previous threats by the Yemeni terrorist group to impose an “air blockade” on Israel if attacked. Most of the Houthis’ missiles have been intercepted or fallen short since Hamas’s invasion in October 2023.

The attacks come after US President Donald Trump announced that the US would stop bombing the Houthis due to their agreement to cease attacking US ships under an Oman-mediated ceasefire deal. However, this accord did not include Israel, allowing the Houthi missile launches to continue unimpeded.
