WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event took place recently, but not everyone made it through unscathed. Dave Meltzer provided an update on the health of two WWE wrestlers during his “Wrestling Observer Radio” show.
Drew McIntyre suffered a significant injury in his blow-off match at the event. He was subjected to the ConChairTo and is expected to be out for a while due to neck pain, which has been lingering since the Backlash event. The injury occurred when McIntyre took Damian Priest’s South of Heaven finisher onto tables outside the ring and hit his head on the floor.
In another incident, Chelsea Green broke her nose during the show. The clean break indicates that she may not be severely impacted, and she is expected to continue competing in WWE television. According to Meltzer, the Women’s United States Championship match was added last-minute to the card, which contributed to a frantic pace throughout the event.
Meltzer felt that the addition of the women’s match was done to avoid criticism for the show not including more female matches earlier on.
