Nintendo is revving up its engines with the launch of the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 system. After eight years, the beloved gaming console will officially arrive at Target stores on June 5, selling out in under two hours when preorders went live on April 24.
The Nintendo Switch 2 and a bundle featuring Mario Kart World will be available for purchase in-store on June 5, with online availability following on June 6. Additional software, amiibo, and accessories will also be stocked up.
To fuel the fandom, Target is rolling out an expanded assortment of Nintendo-inspired products, including character stainless steel tumblers, apparel, toys, collectibles, and more, starting at $20. A dedicated shopping experience in select stores and online features the full assortment on June 5.
In-store celebrations on launch day will feature giveaways and exclusive experiences for guests. “We’re making it unforgettable for our guests,” says Cassandra Jones, senior vice president of merchandising at Target.
On June 5, shoppers can line up to purchase a ticketed product, with limited stock available. Ticketing will take place until all tickets have been claimed or 10 minutes prior to store opening. A purchase limit of one product per item per guest applies for the Nintendo Switch 2 and bundle items.
Additional deals are available June 5-7, including discounts on select character tees, toys, video games, and accessories. The ultimate Nintendo destination is Target, offering everything from consoles, games, to mushroom kingdom-themed toys and collectibles.
