Who’s the Odd Man Out in Cleveland’s QB Battle?

The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation is taking shape with several moves made this offseason. The team acquired Kenny Pickett, signed veteran Joe Flacco, drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, and traded for Deshaun Watson. With so many quarterbacks on the roster, it’s unclear who will be left out.

Pickett’s affordable salary makes him a potential trade candidate. His experience under Saints coach Kellen Moore in 2024 could also provide a veteran presence to the team. However, the Browns may choose to hold onto Pickett for now.

The most likely candidates to go are Pickett or Flacco. Flacco has strong ties with the fan base, making his departure less appealing. Alternatively, one of the rookies, Gabriel or Sanders, could be traded in the hopes of finding a long-term solution.

For now, it’s assumed that Pickett will be released before training camp starts. The 53-man roster is likely to consist of Flacco, Gabriel, and Sanders, with Deshaun Watson hoping to find his way onto the team despite his injury issues.
