IndiGo Firmly Orders 30 More A350 Planes from Airbus

Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has placed a firm order for 30 wide-body A350 planes with Airbus, taking its total order to 60. The airline had previously ordered 30 A350 aircraft in April last year and now exercised an option to add another 30 planes.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers announced the decision during a briefing in New Delhi. With this latest order, the airline’s overall fleet on order has reached over 900 planes, set to be delivered in the coming years.

The expansion comes as IndiGo targets its international network and plans to operate flights to 10 new overseas cities using leased Boeing 787 planes in the current fiscal year.
