Microsoft Password Alert: Save Before June 1 Transition

Microsoft users are being warned to save their passwords before the company’s upcoming switch to its new password management system starting next month. Starting June 1, the company will phase out its current password management app, Microsoft Authenticator.

The app, which also provides two-factor authentication and autofills passwords for apps and websites, will no longer store or autofill new passwords. By July 1, users will lose access to autofill functionality, and by August, all previously saved passwords will be deleted.

However, if users want to continue using their existing passwords after August, they must download Microsoft Edge onto their devices. The company plans to integrate its password manager into the new browser, allowing seamless password access across all platforms.
