R-Truth joined WWE in 1999 and initially debuted as “K-Kwik” before returning in 2008 as his current character. During his time with the company, he held multiple championships, including the United States, hardcore, and world tag-team titles, as well as the record-breaking 24/7 Championship a total of 54 times.
The news comes after R-Truth recently ended a brief rivalry with John Cena, which culminated in Cena’s table-smashing segment on Monday Night Raw. Fans have been well-wishes for R-Truth, who will turn 53 later this year. It is unclear what his next move will be, but he thanked WWE for the experience and expressed appreciation to his fans.
