R-Truth Released by WWE After 17-Year Stint

R-Truth, a beloved WWE veteran wrestler, has been released from the company after a 17-year stint. The news was confirmed on social media, where R-Truth expressed gratitude to WWE for the opportunity and thanked fans for their support over the years. R-Truth’s departure ends his second stint with WWE, which began in 2008.

During his time with WWE, R-Truth became known for his comedic performances, often bringing laughter to segments and making fellow talent break character on-air. He was a two-time United States Champion, two-time Hardcore Champion, and two-time Tag Team Champion, and holds the record for most 24/7 Championship wins at 53.

R-Truth’s release comes after WWE let go of several other stars in recent months, including around 10 wrestlers in February and more in May. Several wrestlers, including Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, have shared their sadness over the announcement on social media, praising R-Truth as “one in a lifetime.”
