Adam Sandler Stars in Happy Gilmore 2 Trailer Released at Netflix Tudum 2025

Adam Sandler is once again bringing his signature humor to the big screen with the sequel to the 1996 classic, Happy Gilmore. The upcoming comedy film was teased during Netflix’s Tudum 2025: The Live Event on May 31, and a full trailer has been released.

The film, directed by Kyle Newacheck and written by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler, takes place nearly 30 years after the original and follows Sandler reprising his role as Happy Gilmore. The movie also features returning cast members Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen as Virginia.

New additions to the cast include Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, John Daly, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Travis Kelce, Blake Clark, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and Sandler’s own children, Sadie and Sunny.

Sandler spoke with ESPN’s New Heights podcast in August 2024 about the film, hinting that it follows an older Happy Gilmore who is struggling to find his footing again. The actor emphasized the importance of heart in Adam Sandler’s movies, saying he “loves about Adam Sandler’s love for people.”

Happy Gilmore 2 premieres on Netflix July 25, offering fans a chance to see more of the beloved characters and catch up with Adam Sandler once again.
