South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham sparked controversy by making a derogatory comment about climate activist Greta Thunberg and her friends, suggesting they “can swim!” in a post on X/Twitter. The remark was made in response to the upcoming “Freedom Flotilla” trip to Gaza, where Thunberg and Irish actor Liam Cunningham are set to join forces with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.
The coalition’s crew will board the Madleen vessel after a drone allegedly destroyed their previous ship off Sicily’s coast. The organization reported being targeted by a drone strike off Malta in early May, which left 30 people on board before the alleged attack occurred shortly after midnight local time.
