Saquon Barkley will feature on the cover of Madden NFL 26, EA Sports announced on Monday. The New York Giants running back will appear in two different uniforms – the Kelly green Eagles throwback from his iconic 2024 game against Jacksonville and the standard home uniform of the Eagles, which won Super Bowl LIX.
Barkley expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, and fans for their support, saying he’s excited to provide more highlight-reel moments for Madden players. His reverse hurdle in 2024 was a defining moment in NFL history, and EA Sports is capitalizing on its popularity by allowing players to replicate it in the game.
“Saquon’s reverse hurdle was one of the rare moments that would have once been described as ‘something out of a video game’,” said Evan Dexter, vice president of franchise strategy and marketing for EA Sports. “Madden NFL 26 will deliver the most real NFL experience, allowing players to experience more of Saquon’s incredible athleticism.”
Barkley joins Christian McCaffrey as the second running back to appear on Madden covers in consecutive years. The selection highlights the NFL’s prioritization of top-tier running backs.
EA’s preview event in Orlando showcased new features coming to the latest Madden installment, with Barkley’s involvement marking a significant entry for the series.
