Nintendo has released a new system update for the original Switch, version 20.1.1, which addresses an issue that arose after the previous 20.1.0 update. The patch notes reveal that the update fixes problems with some software not launching properly.
This update is minor and follows in the footsteps of the recent 20.1.0 release, which introduced audio and visual changes to the Switch’s interface. These changes aimed to bring the console more in line with its successor, the Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch on June 5. The new update also includes improvements for Animal Crossing: New Horizons multiplayer sessions.
The Switch 2 launch has already seen a significant impact, as preorders have sold out quickly and retailers are restocking the console ahead of its release.
