Amazon is investing $10 billion in North Carolina to create data centers focused on artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The move aims to boost its presence in the state, creating at least 500 new high-skilled jobs. This investment supports the company’s expansion into the growing AI market, where rival tech giants Google and Microsoft are also heavily invested.
The Tar Heel State will now host thousands of Amazon Web Services data center jobs, bolstering North Carolina’s reputation as an innovation hub. The investment is part of Amazon’s efforts to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
“We’re helping drive economic growth and advance U.S. leadership in AI,” said Shannon Kellogg, Amazon’s vice president of public policy.
