Amazon is launching a new team within its Lab126 research unit to focus on developing agentic artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks. This technology enables robots to perform complex actions on behalf of users, such as understanding natural language commands and completing tasks.
The new team will work on creating an “agentic AI framework” for Amazon’s robotics operations, also known as “physical AI.” This technology allows robots to interact with their environment in a more human-like way. Amazon has already released a web-based agent earlier this year, demonstrating its interest in agentic AI capabilities.
Other companies, including the company’s own cloud unit and Alexa+, have also started exploring agentic AI applications. With the growing demand for intelligent systems that can perform complex actions on behalf of users, Amazon’s new team will play a crucial role in developing this technology.
