Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced that head coach Pete DeBoer has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately. The team will begin searching for a new head coach to help them achieve their goal of winning the Stanley Cup.
DeBoer led the Stars to three consecutive Western Conference Final appearances and accumulated a 149-68-29 regular-season record over three seasons. He also posted a 29-27 record in 56 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Nill will hold a media availability on Friday at 12 p.m. CT to discuss the coaching change. The team’s next head coach will be determined through a thorough search process.
