US Imposes New Travel Ban Targeting 8 Countries

US President Donald Trump has announced a new travel ban targeting eight countries, citing concerns about terror attacks. The ban prohibits travelers from Afghanistan, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen from entering the US.

The administration argues that the ban is necessary to prevent future terror attacks, following an anti-Semitic attack in Gaza and another in Boulder, Colorado. While past travel bans have sparked protests, this latest move has been met with relative calm.

The ban includes partial restrictions on people from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela, allowing tourist travel but preventing immigration or study entries. The move has sparked concerns about the administration’s discriminatory intentions and whether Americans have become too accepting of such policies.
