YouTube personality JerryRigEverything recently conducted a durability test on the Nintendo Switch 2, and was surprised to find that it passed with flying colors – despite one major flaw.
Jerry’s tests typically focus on phones, but he also includes other major devices like the Steam Deck and Switch. In this case, his video showed that the Switch 2 withstands heat resistance and has a secure attachment point for the Joy-Con 2 controller.
However, Jerry discovered that the plastic screen is highly prone to scratches – even from metal objects. He demonstrated how easy it is to leave marks on the screen using various tools.
Despite this major flaw, the Nintendo Switch 2 still passed Jerry’s test, thanks in part to its secure attachment point for the Joy-Con 2 controller. In fact, Jerry believes that the design of the connector is a significant advantage, as it makes the console more resistant to damage.
The results of Jerry’s test are a mixed bag – while the Switch 2 shows impressive durability, its plastic screen is a major concern. Whether or not this flaw will be addressed in future updates remains to be seen.
