The agency’s statement comes after instances of passengers using their cards to bypass airport security were documented until recently. However, changes brought in on May 7 require the use of a REAL ID-compliant document, such as a driver’s license, for air travel. This update puts an end to the popular “thrifty life hack” that some shoppers used to get past security checkpoints.
