Summer Game Fest Announcements Bring Thrills to Fans

Summer Game Fest has kicked off, with major studios revealing new games and trailers that are sure to excite gamers. Amidst an industry facing job cuts and reduced spending on new titles, the festival aims to convince fans to part with their cash.

Among the highlights is War for Westeros, a real-time strategy game from Australian developer PlaySide based on Game of Thrones. Players can control Great House armies in iconic locations, either solo or online against friends. The game launches next year on PC.

Mads Mikkelsen will reprise his role as Bond villain Le Chiffre in an update for Hitman, but not before making a digital appearance in IO Interactive’s new Bond game, 007: First Light. This gives fans their strongest hint yet that Le Chiffre will be part of the upcoming Bond title.

Capcom is reviving its zombie-horror series with Resident Evil 9, Requiem, launching next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game features a destroyed version of Racoon City and promises an action-packed experience.

A new game featuring the Wu-Tang Clan, titled Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, combines combat and music in an Afro-surreal style mixed with anime. Although not the first game to feature the collective, this one promises a fresh take on their legacy.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 has been unveiled, with players building and managing their own amusement park based on the Jurassic World franchise. The studio behind it, Frontier Developments, has also revealed an October launch date across consoles and PC.
