Microsoft has announced that Gears of War: Reloaded will be released on August 26th, along with a new in-engine trailer showcasing the game’s enhanced features. The remastered version boasts improved graphics, including 4K assets and enhanced post-processing effects. It also supports HDR, Dolby Vision, and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos.
The game’s campaign mode will run at 60 frames per second (FPS), while the multiplayer mode will offer up to 120 FPS. A universal framerate setting is expected, which could mean a consistent framerate across all platforms, including PC. Cross-play between PC and consoles will be supported without requiring a Microsoft account, but signing in with an MS account unlocks full cross-platform functionality.
Gears of War: Reloaded will utilize the Unreal Engine, potentially a newer version than its predecessor, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’s Unreal Engine 3. The game’s performance has been improved to address stutters and other issues seen in the original Ultimate Edition on PC.
The remastered title will be released on Steam alongside other versions, ensuring that it won’t be exclusive to the Epic Games Store or Microsoft Store. However, the official PC requirements have not been shared yet, and they will be reported as soon as available.
