Steelers Receiver George Pickens Out with Hamstring Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers leading receiver George Pickens will not play in Sunday’s matchup against the Browns due to a hamstring injury. Pickens, who has 850 receiving yards and three touchdowns this season, was listed as questionable earlier in the week but later became inactive after sources indicated optimism about his ability to play. Calvin Austin III takes Pickens’ place on the active roster after exiting concussion protocol earlier this week. This is not Pickens’ first absence from a game; he had previously missed only one contest since being drafted by the Steelers in 2022. The receiver was involved in a confrontation with cornerback Greg Newsome II during the Week 12 loss to the Browns and was fined over $20,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct penalties against him during a win against the Bengals on December 1.
