iOS 26’s Liquid Glass design will mark the beginning of Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone. According to Bloomberg, the device will feature curved glass edges, slim bezels, and an edge-to-edge screen with no cutout.
The new iOS design is inspired by visionOS, the operating system for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. The “Glasswing” device, as it is internally known, is expected to launch in September 2027 alongside a revamped Messages app, which will include features like poll creation and background image setting within conversations.
Additionally, iOS 26 will enhance the CarPlay experience with at least two updates, although specifics are not yet available. The Apple Watch’s performance against clinical tools has also been questioned in a recent meta-analysis, highlighting potential inaccuracies in calorie burn estimates.
Meanwhile, macOS 26 will drop support for older Intel-based Mac models, such as MacBook Air and iMac from 2020 or earlier. iOS 26 is expected to be announced during Apple’s WWDC 2025 keynote, where the Liquid Glass design will also make its debut.
