Adam Ondra to End Career with IFSC World Cup in Prague

The 2025 IFSC World Cup sport climbing season reaches its halfway point as the fourth stage in men’s and women’s Boulder events takes place in Prague, Czechia from June 6-8. Letná Park will host three days of elite bouldering competition featuring Olympic medallists, overall World Cup winners, and a world champion.

The event marks the farewell bouldering appearance for legendary Czech climber Adam Ondra, who announced his decision to end his career in April. Organisers have planned a fitting send-off with the #lastboulderdance slogan.

Ondra’s departure has left a void in the men’s field, but Olympic Games Paris 2024 silver medallist Anraku Sorato is expected to make it four leg wins from four. The 18-year-old Japanese climber leads the overall World Cup rankings with a 677-point lead over Lee Dohyun.

In the women’s competition, Japan’s Nakamura Mao seeks to maintain her top spot after claiming the first IFSC World Cup win of her career in Salt Lake City. The 17-year-old star has reached the podium in all three events this season and trails Japanese rival Annie Sanders by just 165 points.

Live coverage of the event is available on Olympics.com, with broadcast and streaming feeds also accessible via International Federation of Sport Climbing partner broadcasters and their YouTube Channel.
