Atlus has officially announced a full remake of its iconic role-playing game Persona 4. The new version, titled Persona 4 Revival, will be released on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
The remake was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase and is set to be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. However, no release date has been confirmed yet.
In a statement, P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that they are working with passion and love to create a fresh and surprising product for both newcomers and long-time fans. The remake is expected to follow in the footsteps of Persona 3 Reload, which included improved graphics, enhanced audio, and a reworked combat system.
Interestingly, several original voice actors from Persona 4 have confirmed on social media that they were not asked to reprise their roles for the remake, suggesting that the new version may include new voice cast members. The game’s plot remains the same as the original, but with some quality of life changes and expanded gameplay elements.
Persona 4 was originally released in 2008 for PlayStation 2 and has since become a beloved title in the Persona series, known for its unique social simulation elements and engaging storyline.
