LAX Metro Station Opens Without Car, Revolutionizing Air Travel

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has finally opened its long-awaited metro station, making it easier for travelers to reach the airport without a car. The new station, located at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, will connect passengers to the K Line and C Line, with an automated people mover train set to open next year.

The $900 million transit center includes a 16-bay bus plaza, electric bus infrastructure, and a bicycle hub, offering convenient parking options for short-term visitors. Free shuttle buses will run every 10 minutes between the station and LAX until the new automated train is operational.

The opening of the metro station marks a significant improvement in air travel accessibility for Los Angeles residents and international visitors alike. “We are delivering the results that the people of Los Angeles have demanded and world travelers have waited for,” said Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins, highlighting the importance of public transportation in connecting passengers from the airport to the rest of the city.

The LAX metro station is one of 28 transit projects planned by Metro ahead of the Olympics and Paralympics in 2028. With millions of weekly travelers and tens of thousands of employees working at the airport, the new train system is expected to ease traffic and improve air travel experience for all.
