The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, as well as Seattle on the US West Coast, are facing significant delays in shipping due to ongoing trade tensions. Since President Donald Trump’s trade war began, these ports have seen a drastic drop in cargo shipments.
Typically, about a dozen ships arrive at the Port of Los Angeles each day, but since the start of the trade war, this number has dwindled to around five. According to Gene Seroka, executive director of the Port of Los Angeles, job orders for dock workers have decreased by nearly 50% over the past week.
The impact is being felt across cities that rely heavily on shipping, casting a shadow over businesses and warehouses nationwide.
