Duke Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule and Opener Against Texas

Duke’s Blue Devils will open their 2025-26 men’s basketball season in the Dick Vitale Invitational, a first-time event announced on ESPN founder Dick Vitale’s 86th birthday. The team will face the Texas Longhorns on November 4 at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center.

The announcement comes as part of Duke’s non-conference schedule, which includes matchups against fellow power conference opponents. The Blue Devils will also play Kansas on November 18 at Madison Square Garden and Arkansas on Thanksgiving night at the United Center in Chicago.

Duke’s ACC slate has been reduced to 20 games this season, allowing the team to add two additional non-conference games. The Blue Devils’ league schedule includes home games against UNC, Louisville, Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, SMU, Syracuse, Virginia, and Wake Forest, as well as road games at UNC, Louisville, California, Florida State, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Stanford, and Virginia Tech.

In their upcoming game against the Longhorns, Duke has a strong record against Texas, with five previous victories since 2000. The Blue Devils’ last win over the Longhorns came in an overtime thriller in Portland, Oregon, on November 24, 2017.
