Veteran Character Actor Harris Yulin Passes Away at 88

Harris Yulin, a renowned character actor with over 100 film and TV credits, has passed away at the age of 88. His death was announced by his family and manager on June 10th in New York City.

Yulin’s extensive career spanned films like Scarface, Ghostbusters II, and Training Day, as well as stage productions on Broadway in Hedda Gabler, The Price, and The Diary of Anne Frank. He also directed several shows, including The Glass Menagerie, and won a Lucille Lortel award for his work behind the scenes.

On television, Yulin appeared in notable series such as Cagney and Lacey, Little House on the Prairie, Frasier, Entourage, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He was also set to star in the upcoming TV series American Classic alongside Kevin Kline and Laura Linney before his death.

Yulin’s director of the show, Michael Hoffman, remembered him as “one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered.” He praised Yulin’s unique blend of technical skill and a “fresh sense of discovery,” which brought immediacy and vitality to his work.
