Microsoft Releases Revised Windows 11 Update for Incompatible PCs

Microsoft has released a revised security update for certain Windows 11 systems incompatible with the initial update. The company confirmed that it has identified a compatibility issue affecting a limited set of devices, and users who are affected will receive an updated version with all June 2025 security improvements.

The issue affects devices running Windows 11 version 24H2, but the full availability of the security update is available for other supported versions. Microsoft did not disclose the specific hardware or software configurations affected by the compatibility issue.

However, in a separate out-of-band update (KB5063060), Microsoft addressed an incompatibility issue with Easy Anti-Cheat, which may be related to the original problem. The updated patch addresses an unexpected Windows restart when opening games using the service.

Microsoft released security updates for 66 vulnerabilities in Windows 11 24H2 and 23H2, including a zero-day WebDAV flaw and a publicly disclosed SMB privilege escalation flaw. The company has not commented on whether this is a one-time issue or if they will release revised updates in the future.
