Note that there will be no third-place play-off. All knockout matches will be single-leg ties.

The Mexican teams participating in the tournament are Monterrey and Pachuca. Both teams will face strong competition in their respective groups, with Monterrey facing River Plate, Inter Milan, and Urawa Red Diamonds, while Pachuca will take on Real Madrid, Al Hilal, and Red Bull Salzburg.

Note that Leon had been qualified for the tournament but was disqualified due to multi-ownership policy issues. Their spot was taken by Los Angeles FC.
