Measles Outbreak Hits D.C. Region, Traveler Identified

Health officials in the Washington D.C. area have issued warnings after a person infected with measles was detected at Dulles International Airport and traveled throughout the region over the past week. This is not the first reported case of measles in the D.C. region this year, as several cases have been confirmed. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises travelers to ensure they are up-to-date on their vaccinations before arriving in crowded areas or near vulnerable populations such as young children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems.
