Paul Craig Admits ‘Illegal Move’ in Controversial No Contest

Paul Craig has admitted that an “illegal move” was made during his light-heavyweight contest against Rodolfo Bellato, which resulted in a no-contest victory for both fighters. The 37-year-old Scottish UFC contender had urged fans not to “persecute” Bellato after he pulled out of the fight following a kick to the face.

Craig acknowledged that an illegal move was made, saying it was “raw at the moment” but not willing to think it might be intentional. He pointed out that both fighters were in the heat of the moment and made mistakes. The no-contest decision means Craig will retain his spot in the division and remain eligible for future fights.

Craig, who had moved up a weight class hoping to turn his career around, expressed disappointment with the outcome but took positives from the fight, saying he felt good and landed several successful shots. He is now looking forward to a potential rematch with Bellato or facing another light-heavyweight opponent in the UFC.
