Ukraine’s military intelligence agency says it destroyed three Russian air defense systems using drones in the occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast on June 14. The attack targeted a Buk-M3, a Pantsyr S1, and a 9S19 Imbir radar from the S-300V air defense system.
The HUR stated that Ukrainian drone masters successfully dodged enemy fire and struck multiple targets. This is not an isolated incident, as Ukraine has been conducting regular strikes on Russian military targets in occupied territories and deep within Russia to weaken Moscow’s fighting power.
In a recent operation on June 1, Ukraine launched a game-changing drone attack on four key Russian military airfields, damaging 41 planes, including heavy bombers and rare A-50 spy planes. This attack is seen as one of the most daring operations during Russia’s full-scale war, with Kyiv claiming to have disabled 34% of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet.
The HUR agency has also been linked to previous attacks, such as the explosions near Desantnaya Bay in Russia’s far eastern Vladivostok on May 30, which damaged military personnel and equipment.
