Singer Sabrina Carpenter has reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her new single “Manchild”. This marks Carpenter’s first song to debut at number one, following her previous success with “Please Please Please”, which held the top spot in June last year.
Carpenter’s latest release is part of her upcoming album ‘Man’s Best Friend’, set to be released on August 29th via Island Records. The seventh studio album comes after Carpenter won a Grammy Award for her breakthrough single “Short n’ Sweet” in 2024.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Carpenter explained why she decided to release a new album so quickly. She stated that she’s at a point in her life where she feels free from rules and wants to create music when inspired, rather than waiting for a specific time frame.
Carpenter will headlining several festivals this summer and fall, including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival. Her North American tour kicks off on October 25th in Pittsburgh and wraps up on November 23rd in Los Angeles.
