Trump’s Tariffs Spark Unexpected Boom for Chinese Christmas Business

Hong Kong – A US tariff policy aimed at hurting a Chinese businessman’s Christmas decoration business has had an unexpected outcome. Instead of slowing down production, Gong Yongqiang’s factories have continued to operate at full capacity since May. The company is now on track to see sales grow by 20% this year, driven by strong demand from countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia. Gong exports Santa Claus figures and other Christmas items from China, a business he has been running for over a decade.
