Fresno police arrested Scott Alvarado, 41, on Friday, June 13, 2025, in connection to the shooting death of Nicholas Bolanos, 33. The incident occurred near Griffith Way and Hughes Avenue, where officers responded at 6:51 p.m. following a ShotSpotter alert of six gunshots.
Victim Nicholas Bolanos was found hunched over and bleeding from his chest. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center but sadly died from his injuries. Detectives identified Alvarado as the suspect after speaking with witnesses, who revealed that the shooting followed a verbal dispute between the two acquaintances who had been living together for about a month.
Alvarado fled Fresno and was believed to be in the North Fork area of Madera County. However, plainclothes detectives located him without incident on Friday, leading to his arrest. The Fresno Police Department is still seeking information related to the case and urges anyone with knowledge to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
