A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Monday night, carrying 26 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. The rocket lifted off at 8:36 p.m. PT and created a bright plume visible across the western horizon.
The launch marked the third flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission. After stage separation, the booster landed on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship in the Pacific Ocean.
The launch was part of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network expansion efforts to improve global internet coverage. Clear weather and timing contributed to a spectacular sight as the rocket’s path lit up the twilight sky.
A webcast of the mission is available for replay on SpaceX.com, offering those who missed it live a chance to view the launch again.
