Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has revealed that the country has lost around 43,000 soldiers since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. The figure comes after US President-elect Donald Trump claimed Ukraine had “lost” 400,000 soldiers, a claim widely regarded as inaccurate. Zelenskiy stated that ending the war solely with a peace agreement is not feasible, emphasizing the need for a more comprehensive solution to bring about lasting peace.
