R. Kelly Hospitalized After Alleged Prison Medical Neglect

Disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly, serving a 30-year prison sentence, was hospitalized in North Carolina after alleging he suffered an “overdose” due to officials at the prison. According to sources, Kelly’s lawyers claim that the singer received routine medical care for two days before being released and returned to the prison.

Kelly’s attorney, Beau B. Brindley, accused the US Bureau of Prisons of “trying to kill” his client in a statement, citing alleged mismanagement by the agency. The filing also claims that Kelly was denied surgery due to the actions of prison officers accompanying him to the facility.

The incident is the latest in a series of controversies surrounding R. Kelly’s treatment while incarcerated. The singer has been serving his sentence since 2021, after being convicted on racketeering and sex trafficking charges related to having sex with underage girls.

Kelly’s lawyers have also faced criticism for their own handling of the case, including a statement earlier this year calling on President Trump to intervene in Kelly’s treatment.
