Apple is reportedly planning to launch a premium-priced foldable iPhone in 2026, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The device’s display will be made by Samsung, with the company aiming to produce up to eight million foldable panels for the new Apple product.
Kuo, a respected analyst at TF International Securities, has a track record of accurately predicting Apple’s product launches. However, he notes that Apple’s plans for the foldable iPhone are not yet set in stone and may change.
The idea of a folding smartphone has been long-rumored to be in development at Apple, with some analysts suggesting it could help reinvigorate the company’s signature device. The iPhone remains a highly profitable product, accounting for over half of Apple’s business, but sales have peaked and the company is under pressure to attract new customers and convince existing ones to upgrade.
Analysts remain optimistic about Apple’s stock, with a consensus Moderate Buy rating among 29 Wall Street analysts. The average price target for AAPL is $226.94, implying 15.44% upside from current levels.
