A 34-year-old influencer and co-creator of Black Girl Disney, Dominique Brown, has died after a medical emergency at an event in Los Angeles. Brown, who was known for her enthusiasm for Disney, passed away on Thursday while hosting an event at Vibiana in LA. An investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
Brown co-founded Black Girl Disney in 2018 to address the lack of representation and centered spaces for young women of color. The site has since become a community-driven platform celebrating diversity and inclusivity within Disney fandoms. Brown was frequently invited to Disneyland-hosted events and movie premieres, including the recent “Moana 2” premiere at the El Capitan Theatre.
Her brother paid tribute to her on Instagram, thanking fans for their love and support during her final days. Despite Disney bringing joy to her life, Brown found a sense of community that went beyond a simple fan base, leaving behind a lasting impact on those who knew her.
