Scheffler Tied for Lead at Travelers Championship with Fleetwood and Thomas

Golfers Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, and Tommy Fleetwood are tied for the lead at the Travelers Championship after a blustery Friday. Scheffler struggled with the wind, which led to double bogey on the 17th hole, while Thomas made five straight birdies in the back nine to surge ahead. Fleetwood, meanwhile, capitalized on the wind’s fluctuations with two eagles and a chip-in for eagle on the 15th.

The conditions played a significant role in shaping the leaderboard, with players struggling to determine which way the wind was blowing. Scheffler hit his tee shot exactly as planned but still ended up in a bunker, while Thomas stayed patient and cashed in on his back-nine birdies.

The field is bunched together, with 12 players separated by just four shots. Jason Day and Denny McCarthy are close behind, and the leaders will face a challenging weekend. “The conditions today definitely bunched the entire field together and should make for an exciting weekend,” said Rory McIlroy.
