Sean Hjelle’s wife, Caroline, has accused him of infidelity and “abuse” in a recent TikTok post. The video, which features the couple’s two sons, alleges that Hjelle abandoned his family on Mother’s Day after finding out about his affairs and stopping the abuse.
The accusations have garnered over 3.4 million views on the platform as of Saturday afternoon. The Giants addressed the situation in a statement, saying they are aware of the allegations but will not comment further due to their jurisdiction with Major League Baseball (MLB).
Hjelle has declined to comment on the situation, citing his desire to speak with his agent and lawyer before making an official statement. He has been with the team since 2019 and has spent parts of four seasons in the big leagues.
The Giants’ manager, Bob Melvin, also acknowledged the situation, stating that the team is aware of it but cannot comment further due to MLB’s jurisdiction. Hjelle’s ERA this season stands at 4.66, with seven strikeouts over nine innings in six outings.
