Israel Hit by Iranian Missile Strike, Over 200 Injured

A hospital in Beersheba, Israel has been hit by an Iranian missile strike, injuring over 200 people. The attack is part of a seven-day conflict between the two nations, which has resulted in at least 24 Israeli deaths and over 639 Iranian fatalities.

Iran claimed that its missile strikes targeted a military site close to the hospital, but not the facility itself. Israel said 271 people were injured in strikes reported across the country. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports that at least 639 people have been killed in Iran since Friday.

The conflict began on June 13 when Israel launched attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, killing several top generals and nuclear scientists. Israeli officials said the attack was “deliberate” and “criminal,” targeting a main medical center for the Negev region. The hospital’s CEO, Prof Shlomi Codish, reported that several wards were completely destroyed, forcing 200 patients to be transferred to other hospitals.

Iran has vowed to retaliate against Israel’s actions, with its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying he wants Israel destroyed. Israeli officials have threatened Iran’s leader and military targets, including nuclear sites and missile launchers. The UN’s high commissioner, Volker Türk, warned officials against inflammatory rhetoric and called for restraint.

The latest attacks come as President Trump considers the possibility of direct American involvement in Israel’s campaign. However, Trump has held off on a final decision about striking Iran, saying “I may do it, I may not do it” when asked if he would attack the country.
