Fleetwood Shares Lead at Travelers Championship

English golfer Tommy Fleetwood has taken a share of the lead in the Travelers Championship after a stellar second-round performance. Fleetwood shot a 65 to join Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas at nine under par.

The 34-year-old, who is searching for his first PGA Tour title, started strong with a modest level-par opening half but then surged up the field in the last six holes. He eagled two holes, including a long shot on the 14th fairway, to gain valuable strokes.

Fleetwood’s impressive round came after he played poorly at the US Open last week. However, he bounced back well and expressed his motivation for improving his game moving forward.

Thomas also had an exceptional round, reeling off five consecutive birdies in his six-under 64. Scheffler carded a 69 to sit atop the leaderboard alongside Fleetwood.

Notable performances from other players include Rory McIlroy, who shot a one-over 71 and fell four strokes behind the leaders.
