Chase Briscoe Wins Pocono Cup Race with Emotional First Victory

Chase Briscoe scored his first NASCAR Cup Series win, leading a race-high 72 laps at Pocono Raceway on Sunday. Briscoe, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, shed the pressure of not having won yet this season. His victory marked his third career series win.

Denny Hamlin earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming In-Season Challenge with a strong runner-up finish. He’s been on a roll, finishing third at Nashville and winning Michigan before taking time off for the birth of his son.

RFK Racing continued its momentum, placing three cars in the top 10 for the first time since July 2016. Chris Buescher finished fourth, while Ryan Preece secured an eighth-place finish. Brad Keselowski rounded out the team’s impressive showing with a ninth-place result.

Ryan Blaney bounced back from a difficult day, finishing third despite taking the green flag from the rear and facing a pit road speeding penalty that sent him to the back of the field. He has four top-five finishes in his last seven races.

Chase Elliott secured a fifth-place finish, earning back-to-back top fives for the season. John Hunter Nemechek repeated his sixth-place finish from last week, securing his fourth top-10 result in seven races.

In contrast, 23XI Racing struggled, with no team car finishing better than 32nd. Brake issues led to Riley Herbst (37th) and Bubba Wallace (36th) crashing. Tyler Reddick (32nd) experienced a brief garage visit during the race due to an issue.

William Byron, the points leader, was forced to start at the rear after a crash in qualifying. Despite this, he made up ground through the field, scoring points in each stage but ultimately finishing 27th.
