Gemini Now ID’s Songs on Android Without Leaving App

Google has improved its Gemini chatbot for Android by adding a song identification feature that lets users ask what song is playing without having to search online.
The new feature, available now on Android, allows users to play, sing or hum a tune and Gemini will identify the song. It can also recognize songs in playlists and even those hummed.

However, some users have noted that the experience still feels clunky as it hands over results to Google’s full-screen listening mode instead of providing an inline answer within the app. This creates a disjointed feel when compared to other music identification tools like Google Assistant’s Now Playing feature, which is more seamless and works offline.

It’s unclear if this feature will be rolled out on iOS devices in the future, but for now it’s exclusive to Android users.
